PiecesBackI found your legs
tan and willowy
on the dancer girl
standing with her curled toes
planted among the leaves
of her lawn.
I saw your hair
long and windblown
by a sunset breeze
across the deck
of a wooden sailboat
in a picture.
I heard your voice
light and steady
arguing for angels
through the conversations
and cigarette smoke
of some party.
I caught your smile
quick and soft
as I passed a girl
going the other way
last night
in the snow.
I felt your soul
intertwining and flowering
wandering free
somewhere out there
on a sandy road
in a dream.
